About The Event

We the Dogs DC will be hosting the 3rd annual Bipawtisan March in Washington D.C on September 7, 2019. This year, the event will have a glow theme, and will take place in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood. The goal of the Bipawtisan March is to bring the community together as animal lovers and advocates. Our mission is to show that a group of individuals from different political and ideological backgrounds can come together and find common ground on a position that we all support: our pets. Attendees are encouraged to bring family-friendly signs and wear costumes to show “Why I March.” 100% of each tax-deductible registration fee will be donated to local animal rescue organizations selected by the event participants. Registration will open on July 12, 2019 at 9:00am.

Event Information: The event will start at 6:00 pm with a Rally at Yards Park, and will conclude at 10:00pm with a “Yappy” Hour at Dacha Navy Yard. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy food, beer, and wine, pose with their pooches in a photobooth, and win raffle prizes donated by local businesses.

Registration: $30 per person and up to two dogs (includes one t-shirt + glow swag). Registration will open on July 12, 2019 at 9:00am.

Charity Selection: The mission of We the Dogs DC is to support local animal rescue organizations. This year, all donations from the event will be donated to four local animal rescue organizations. We will be asking the public to vote to select three organizations, and the fourth organization will be chosen by the We the Dogs DC team. All donations will be split evenly between the four selected organizations. In order to be eligible, charity organizations must meet the following criteria:

  • The organization must be a recognized 501(c)3 public charity organization with a charity focus in animal rescue and welfare.
  • The organization must be based in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area, and must serve a part of that area through their charitable work. This area includes all of the District of Columbia, and parts of Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia

Charity selecting voting begins on July 12, 2019 at 9:00am and ends on July 31, 2019 at 11:59pm (EST). Selected charities will be announced during the first week of August, 2019.
