LEND A PAW SUPPLY DRIVE
October 21, 2017
We the Dogs DC partnered with the Humane Rescue Alliance to support their Help Out, Partner, and Engage (HOPE) program which focuses on areas in DC
that lack accessible, affordable pet care resources. We the Dogs DC’s Lend a Paw supply drive collected needed supplies at five DC and VA area dog parks that were then donated to the Humane Rescue Alliance to distribute at a HOPE program event in Southeast DC. Over the course of the day, We the Dogs DC collected over 1,480 items for both dogs and cats. This total included 255 pounds of dry dog food, 423 toys of all kinds, 200 collars, harnesses, and leashes, and 99 bags of assorted treats.

PUPS, PINTS AND PORTRAITS
November 15, 2017
We the Dogs DC hosted a ’Yappy Hour’ event at a graphic design firm during which artists were available to paint custom pet portraits of attendees for a donation. This event benefited the Puppy Rescue Mission 501c3, whose primary mission is to fundraise and bring home the ’battle buddies’ of our military men and women deployed overseas. While Puppy Rescue Mission’s primary aim is to
assist service members and their companions, Puppy Rescue Mission will also, from time to time, assist certain organizations inn re-homing stray animals from Afghanistan. We the Dogs DC received over $950 in donations from the event to benefit Puppy Rescue Mission.

WAGGING WONDERLAND
December 10, 2017
We the Dogs DC hosted a holiday party to celebrate the season with all of our two and four legged supporters. Tickets were sold for holiday portraits with Santa Paws, and raised over $1,500 to benefit Worthy Dog Rescue, a local rescue organization dedicated to helping dogs in distress, especially those living on chains, in pens, or in neglectful and abusive situations. We the Dogs DC also collected toys at the holiday party to donate to Worthy Dog Rescue to ensure the neglected and abused dogs rescued by the organization had a new stuffed animal, squeaky toy, or bone to bring them joy over the holiday season.
